Windows 7 crashes flickery screen4/1/2023 ![]() ![]() If your PSU kicks the bucket, it can take out every component in your system (I know this from personal experience). I'm not suggesting the power supply IS an issue, I'm just saying that based on all the numbers, 600W isn't the right supply for this system and it's worth the upgrade regardless of weather it has problems or not. Under-sizing your PSU is asking for trouble. If NVIDIA says you need a minimum of 650W to run the card, you should absolutely have that or higher. Add in extra peripherals and other hardware, and even minor overclocks and you'll be overtaxing it. You may not have issues, but you're gambling. Is there a way to know for sure it's the PSU?Īn rtx 3070 is enough with just 650W, since we are talking about 600W, OP is within minimum psu so that's not the issue, it could be either voltage on ram, drivers or maybe defective component like ramįirst rule of thumb for PSU sourcing is that you never stick with the minimum recommended. Used DDU and reinstalled nvidia driver, and done a windows repair. Did benchmark tests for the GPU but nothing crashed while testing. I tested the RAM with memtest, no errors. I wasn't planning to get a 3070 at first so my psu is just 600w, but I want to make sure it's the psu before replacing it. PSU: Be Quiet! Pure power 11 600w (80+ Gold) Not sure what else to try, before sending the GPU back. Replaced my PSU from 600w to 750w + changed RAM to kingston 3200mhz, the issue remains. Made a new windows user, disabled every non-microsoft service/program. I tested both RAM sticks with memtest, no errors. Games usually run perfectly fine and temps are low, still they randomly crash. I could be just browsing or watching a video. The crash happens randomly, I can't cause it to happen myself. Usually when it happens the nvidia driver crashes (shows an error for a moment) and the resolution changes. Chrome shows a ''out of memory'' error and sometimes I have to restart because nothing is responding anymore. Randomly while doing anything, the screen flickers black for a moment and programs crash. Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX CL16 3200mhz 16 gb (2 sticks of 8 gb) I've built my first PC and I'm having an issue I'm trying to figure out. ![]()
